Obverse of the 2000 denar banknote: Leitmotif of the obverse of the 2000 denar banknote is the presentation of Macedonian bridal costume from Prilep Field as a striking reflection of the richness of the folklore heritage of the Republic of Macedonia. On the same side, in the left center field, there is a presentation of a pendant in form of poppy cup which shall represent an artifact dated in the 7th century BC, belonging to the famous group of Paeonian-Macedonian bronzes.
Reverse of the 2000 denar banknote: Leitmotif of the reverse of the 2000 denar banknote is the decoration of the inside of a gilded vessel, which originates from the 16th century and whose central field shows two affronted peacocks (birds of paradise) near the "source of life" surrounded by lavish floral decoration.
Watermark: When you hold the note up to the light you see an image of a Macedonia.
Metallic Green Ink: By tilting and moving the note you can see colour changes from green to blue. The circles in this feature will appear to spin.
Security Thread: Thread changes from red to green when note is tilted and rainbow bars change colour. When held up you can read „НБРМ 2000“.
See Through: See through element in the shape of an early Christian mosaic, which matches on both sides of the note.
Latent Image: When the note is tilted the text „НБРМ“ can be seen in the costume of the bride.
Intaglio Printing: The banknote has characteristic raised print on the bank title, and the written denomination at the top of the note.
Microtext: A line of extra small text can be read with a magnifying glass reading „Народна банка на Република Македонија“.
Invisible Fluorescent Ink: If you look at the note under ultra-violet (UV) light you will see that it glows.
2000 Back Features
Gold Ink Band: A shiny gold band is visible from the top to bottom reading 2000 and with pattern work.
Extra Small Print: If you look at the edge of the note through a magnifying glass you will see the text reading „НБРМ 2000“.
Two Colour Hidden Feature: The birds appear one colour in daylight, but when viewed under UV light, change into two striking and contrasting colours.
Invisible Value Block: The figure 2000 appears under UV light.
