Obverse: Portrait of Kaptein Hendrik Witbooi - Namaqua chief (c. 1830 – 29 October 1905) was a chief of the ǀKhowesin people, a sub-tribe of the Khoikhoi. He lived in present-day Namibia. Witbooi is regarded as one of the national heroes of Namibia. King Hendrik Witbooi (also spelt Witboi) was also known by the Nama name ǃNanseb gaib ǀGâbemab (the captain who disappears in the grass, a reference to his guerrilla war tactics).
  The Namibian Parliament building in Windhoek at center, symbolizing Namibia’s sovereignty. On the right of the portrait along the upper side of the note there is the Coat of Arms of Namibia. At the top are the name of the bank in English: BANK OF NAMIBIA. The face value of the banknote N$200 at upper left and bottom right corners, in words: "TWO HUNDRED NAMIBIA DOLLARS" along the left side of the banknote.
  Signature: Tom Alweendo, Governor of the Bank of Namibia  (1 January 1997 until 25 March 2010). As Governor of the Bank of Namibia, he maintained the Namibian dollar's linkage with the South African rand.

Reverse: A herd of Roan Antelopes (Hippotragus equinus) on a grassy plain. The Flag of Namibia to the left of the center along the upper side of the banknote. The bank name in English: "BANK OF NAMIBIA" along the left side of the banknote. The face value of the banknote N$200 at upper left and bottom right corners, in words: "TWO HUNDRED NAMIBIA DOLLARS" along the left bottom side of the banknote.
